If you or someone you know suffered a direct impact to the head or was jarred back and forth during a fall, vehicle accident, sports injury, a medical condition or any type of concussion, you may experience symptoms and struggle to understand what’s going on in your brain.

Every day in the U.S. nearly 600 hospitalizations and 200 deaths result from TBI. Every brain is unique, so is every brain injury. Whether or not you lose consciousness matters less then where, what and how your brain was affected. So called “mild” concussions can have long term consequences. Cumulative effects of multiple concussions and TBI can be life-altering.

Everything about my brain injury, my ‘new normal’ and how to live my best life, I learned in support groups from peers dealing with similar issues.
